MONSTERS have Taken Over the Blog!

Monsters — or maybe ghosts — have taken possession of this blog! I’m in the middle of a major blog renovation, an “extreme make-over” with free fiction, lots of visuals and pages of all-new content in the works.

In the meantime, the blog is a construction site. Old posts are “haunting” the premises, showing up in the RSS feeds of followers. Images have disappeared and re-appeared. Once recent post is MIA. Did a ghost eat it? It’s gone…. I have to wonder if it’s hovering in the distance and may return.

Like most construction projects, the new site is behind schedule. But I’m still excited about the prospect of a new look and more engagement. I can’t help it. I’m an optimist and I’m certain that the craziness will be forgotten once the new blog site is up and running!

Please be patient with the glitches and ghosts. Who knows, I may get a story out of it.

  1. OMG! It’s actually happening. 🙂 I’m excited for you as well. Having seen how fantastic Sweetcopy turned out, I’m expecting wonderful things from the Monsters. I do feel for you though. This must be like trying to live in a house that’s being torn down and rebuilt around your ears. Don’t worry though, it will be worth it once it’s done. Good luck!

The same designer is doing this one BUT we’re not going corporate or business-y at all. I hope you love it!

Umm… virtual booze? Maybe I’ll roll the “opening site party” into Poe’s birthday celebration?
      Amontillado based cocktails for everyone.

  2. Sorry to poop on the party, but I’ve got a, um, delicate question to ask : will the new site make commenting any easier? I know I’m a lazy SOB, but in my defence, it’s all WordPress’ fault. WP has conditioned me into being able to dash off a quick comment using my WP identity. I know a private website can’t do the same thing, but…?

      hehehe…
The new blog site will be wordpress-based so no worries!
It won’t have the look of a standard wordpress blog — because there will be an elaborate landing page — but the functioning will be pure wordpress.

That was one of my considerations too. I want to make it easy for followers and others to comment and participate. And, since I will be offering free fiction (short stories and samples of larger works) I wanted to make the overall site easy to use.

      • Can’t wait to see the new look! I’m sure it is well worth the wait. If you use the JetPack plugin available to private WordPress blog users would be able to comment using their WP.com identities. I turned mine off though since I’m using MailChimp now.

I’m such a non-techn person that I will talk to the friends who are helping me about the plug-ins and Mail Chimp. If there’s a conflict between them, I should know. Oh, boy… more confusing techie stuff. The ghosts and monsters, need wizards to take over the back end of the site.
